OUR VolunteersOur volunteers represent an ecclectic mix of backgrounds, perspectives, talents and passions. But together they represent one love: the people and programs of EdgeAlliance.
“Volunteering has made me more aware of issues surrounding HIV/AIDS. It keeps me grounded and reminds me that it still is an issue." - Long-time volunteer Maressa Spinak on her 11-years (and counting) of service to EdgeAlliance
As a volunteer at the original AIDSCare house on Barry Street and a regular Dining Out for Life Ambassador, Maressa Spinak is deeply connected to EdgeAlliance’s mission and work on behalf of children, women and men living with HIV/AIDS. Maressa began volunteering at the AIDSCare house in 2000 when she was only 16 years old. Now, as a Dining Out for Life Ambassador, Maressa continues to promote HIV/AIDS awareness by sharing her rich volunteer experiences with others.
