Social EnterprisesIn today’s world, nonprofits must create socially responsive businesses, both nonprofit and for-profit in order to become self-supporting entities. Nonprofits need to create, franchise, or partner with businesses to respond to the needs of their clients. These social enterprises will educate, train and employ the nonprofit’s clients so they can develop self-esteem, job skills, and financial stability. In addition, these enterprises will not only respond to the needs of the community, but will allow the participating nonprofits to become self-sufficient.EdgeAlliance works with corporations and businesses to advocate more responsibility on their part to address the needs of the poor and to create mutually beneficial partnerships with alliance members. We will employ our members’ clients in order to generate the funds to support our services while at the same time providing job training and financial stability for them. EdgeAlliance can also help nonprofits that are not alliance partners create viable social enterprises for their organizations. Our organization can venture out into the community and respond to its unique needs through social enterprise offerings. We can also consult on a project basis and will create a team of architects, financial consultants, contractors and sub-contractors to develop a wide range of housing projects throughout the state of Illinois. |
